The Department of Social and Human Sciences (CCSSyHH) works with an interdisciplinary approach to understand social life in its complexity. It is made up of five areas of knowledge: literature, social anthropology, political science and administration, audiovisual communication and advertising, and journalism.

It teaches in different bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes. Their research efforts are grouped in three fields: Communication in the Autonomous Region of Valencia (GICOV), Economy, Culture and Gender (ECULGE) , Culture, Tourism and (Cooperation for) Development (CULTURDES) and Democracy and Good Governament (DEMOGOB)
